Six players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have pledged N1 million to each member of the Super Falcons’ squad for the team’s triumph at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the six players who donated are William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.
The players pooled together a sum of N24 million, which will be shared equally by all 24 members of the Super Falcons squad.
The Super Falcons won Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title on Saturday in Morocco.

The team came from two goals down to defeat the host country 3-2 in the final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Jennifer Echegini were the goal scorers for the Falcons in the dramatic triumph.
On Monday, President Bola Tinubu received the team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and conferred the national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on each member of the team, including the technical staff.

The players were also promised the Naira equivalent of $100,000, while the members of the technical staff get $50,000.
Each player and official in the team will also be getting a three-bedroom apartment in the Renewed Hope Estate in the Federal Capital Territory.
