Kwankwaso has denies joining APC, but admits he ‘might work with Tinubu’

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dismissed claims that its national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is dumping the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Travel guides to Nigeria

The party’s National Vice Chairman (South-East), Prince Nweze Onu, told journalists that the rumours were cooked up on social media and fueled by “artificial intelligence mischief.”

“Talks about Kwankwaso moving to the APC only exist on social media. The use of AI and other instruments of social media is very dangerous and makes people spin a lot of narration, especially when it comes to politics,” Onu said.

He also clarified Kwankwaso’s recent appearance at the Presidential Villa, saying it was for a programme and not a defection deal.

“No, he didn’t go for any visitation. He only went there for a programme. The only reason both of them were seen together was because the programme was held at the Villa,” Onu explained.

But here’s where it gets interesting: after the July 21 meeting, Kwankwaso told reporters his talks with President Bola Tinubu focused on politics and governance and then he said: “I might work with Tinubu.”

That single sentence has fueled speculations about a possible alliance ahead of 2027 even though Onu insists Kwankwaso will run for president again.

“Why not? For as long as he is a Nigerian and meets the statutory requirement to aspire to vote and be voted for, he is good to go,” Onu added. Travel guides to Nigeria

And for those wondering why Kwankwaso keeps criticising the government? Onu says it’s deliberate: “He is right. Somebody must make the president realise what he’s doing.”

The APC, he claims, is the one panicking: “They are just too desperate. Their attempt to do too much is what is pushing them into depression,” he noted.
